Just a word of advice from a customer's point of view... If you're going to have continuous spooky sound effects and/or spooky music on your website, PLEASE provide a way to turn it off. I've been researching some out of state haunts for a trip I'm taking in October, and I keep running into websites with unstoppable audio. Some of them don't even stop playing the background audio when you try to watch videos posted on the site, so the background music overpowers the audio in the videos. Sound is a great way to add excitement to a website, but due to the small file size required for quick downloading, the audio files are almost always short enough to get annoying if they infinitely repeat.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that I am a pro Sound Designer, but really this opinion is coming from my view as a potential customer.)

    Couldn't Agree more!

This is HUGE pet peeve of mine as well.
I'm a pro sound designer also and it is frankly really annoying.
If anything you should have the option to turn the sound ON not off!
    Let's start there : )

So true reduces download time too. Don't make the off button super tiny either.

My web designer (Thorn Web Designs) asked me if I wanted to have audio before asking me anything else. I told him no as I too hate automatic sound turn-ons. I think they have a definite place but I absolutely hate it when I can't find the shut off switch when I'm trying to watch a video...
