  • Audio Repeaters

I am looking for some basic audio repeaters to connect to a motion sensor in each scene, so we can run a self guided tour during the off season at our 3d haunt. I have been looking online and have found that they are pretty expensive. The ones I was looking at are here http://www.stoplisten.com/product.htm. I was looking at the Dar - 050. I spoke with the company and they costs $385 each, they said the speaker would be about $60, and the motion sensor is about $60, so that is about $500 for each set up. I am going to need between 7 and 10 of them, so going this way it is going to be pretty expensive. Does anyone know of a similar product that isnt as expensive? I have used cd player boom boxes in the past, and I removed the play button and connected them to an external button, and this has worked well, however I dont think that I could rig a boom box with a motion sensor this way. But I would much rather have somethins that is more reliable and smaller and easy to hide anyway. I just want to have the audio play when people walk into each room, nothing else? Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Justin

http://www.efx-tek.com/topics/ap-16.html $160 for audio board with power supply

    http://www.efx-tek.com/topics/pir.html $10 for sensor

http://www.onlyfactorydirect.com/p-3...ns-ts5odb.aspx $60/pair, you can get away with 1 per audio board

I have 50 of these audio boards in service at my haunt. They work perfectly.

You can also use the Gilderfluke SD-10 with powered speakers or the SD-25 (adds a 50 watt class-D amp) with powered or non powered speakers.

For sensors use anything off the shelf, even a simple step mat.

They are slightly more expensive then the efx-tek boards mentioned above but just thought I would give another option.

Thanks Brian. Is the built in 20w amp powerful enough to project a narritive vocal track so it is heard clearly? If so this is exactly what I need!
        Thanks again,
