Dark..
thank you too....
ill tell you you have to hand it to all the haunts that open in the summer for midwest...
i have done it 3 times now and it is aot of work...and right in the middle of building season...
i do this whole thing outta love...NOT for money...and i know the last time we opened for MHC we made 11 grand for childrens hospital...
which i know some of you know holds a special place in our hearts here...
while we were building the first hack in 1994 my son was born with hirshbrungs disease and we lost him at 10 months old...
my daughter who is now 12 has the same disease....we battle it everyday...and we are blessed to have childrens hospital here in columbus...
when we had timmy my son we had insurance
but the bills beyond the coverage was over 3 million...
soon after his death ...childrens ripped up what we owed them....God bless em
we have made some amazing things since we lastly opened for MHC
and i do like to show off...
sooo maybe
let me think on it awhile

its not often i bare myself
my family, ,my passion...
for histories sake...
anyways...
red head got lonely so we made him a partner
his name is pug head...
they teamed up to scare..
while one had your attention the other came from behind...
maned by Scott Litz
inspired by the first poltergeist movie
giving credit where credit is due....

did these old creations inspire others in this industry...maybe ..maybe not..but they definitely set a precedent.. ...
and soon there were 3 local companies making animations here in columbus ohio...
one of which still employs one of our old employees...
have a great weekend
red head still hasn't retired
and lately he has been doing side jobs scaring for Netherworld

Great thread- it is always cool to see a haunts evolution. It is hard/ impossible to say who had what first and it does not matter. What matters is you have a great show that a lot of people find worth working for. I love seeing these pics.
Allen...
i'm sure your right...
everyone was making huge monsters in their shop...
i would love to see some ...

Allen..
I'm glad you like the thread...
it was inspired by Erics haunted overload thread..
and Americas most influential haunt article...
its been a great ride scaring the hell outta america..
and the best part has been dreaming something up
then making it happen...
i think it is clear to see what influenced us with this skit....
this piece dates itself..haha..
just another part of our haunted hooch history>>>enjoy
the nineties sure was a blast
before animation companies existed and most haunts were black plastic and jaycees in kmart masks...
the Hooch was kickin ass n clearly treading where no haunts had before.....
just like we still do today
following our vision of the future of haunted houses.....
and i have only touched on what brings people from soo far and wide..
but before we git into that..
heres another look back into the world of the early days of Americas baddest haunted house....
the haunted hoochie at dead acres...
Again,
I have GOT to dig out the pics and video of us making puppets in the early 90s.
we built life size creature marionettes, and the 15' giants that are the forefathers of what we make now.
Anybody know how to convert VHS to digital in a easy way. I have so much weird stuff on VHS you would not believe.

Kevin i use a sony multi function dvd recorder model vrd-mc5 ...
i think best buy could hook u up....
i remember your tall stalk arounds with legs...
cant wait to see more of your old stuff...
i want to edit the hack build its just soo time consuming..
and we seemed to video between actual working ...
but i will eventually post it...
heres something a lil different from bad trip in 3 d...
everything here moves...
the dragon flies and butterfly wings
the preying mantis head and hands...
walking spiders and lady bugs...
the head of the snake...
and not pictured is the flying bees...
besides the fly trapp...made by Bo at unit 70
i guess u could say theres alot going on here..haha
