  • Haunted Hoochie exposed

with Walt Disney and over exposed on my mind
and too much mountain dew to get to sleep
I thought i might inspire with a Haunted Hooch thread
or at least show off a little of our swagger

this is something we did way back and is a HH classic now...
i could see it fit nicely into a place like haunted overload
    or maybe your haunted house
this is a 200 year old oak tree that we dressed up a lil
an actor with cables made his eye lids blink and his mouth move
and armed with a mic heckled patrons as they passed
with material like get off my nuts etc etc...ahhh good times

in order to see the orchestra ...you must turn your back on the crowd...

I think it would be cool if all the haunts could find their 1980s, 1990's and to present photos and post them.

Lets see how they transform over decades

That'd be killer Larry! I wished my hard drive didn't crash, I'd show a nice range of my parties

They weren't no "Darkness" sets by no means, but man you can sure tell a difference. They started looking nice for a party in the end. Too bad I quit a few years ago.

Ohh btw: Love the tree I lol'd about the "nuts"

the year was 1990 and we were in the concert business as was Dave Faukman..
thats right i am about to show off preScarefactory and all the spin offs that followed

anyways it was a guillotine were the head once again heckled the crowd before and after the decapitation
the eyes and mouth both moved with air and the valves were hand controlled so the guy running the mic could say anything he wanted and keep the mouth in time...
just a steal frame head with actuators a mask and Velcro... the guillotine was enormous and made just the same way we do it today..all 100 year old oak and a stainless blade..
the head once cut off hung from 550 cord and swung towards the crowd..
everyone thought it was great. now its like a trophy in my office

i think this guy (slim pickens)came next.. actually not but i cant find a pic of the one before him named maggy otts..
which we used a spring instead of a pneumatic. and he fly up super fast..
soo they laid on the ground infront of a tombstone that said maggy otts
and were covered with wet rice...soo when they flew up it thew wet sticky rice on the patrons...
which looked like maggots... definitely the good old days

Jake all i could find is vid of walking right past it..
i cant find any of it in action
i'm sure its out there somewhere
i'll keep looking because its hilarious

Larry i agree and plan too

                Frightener i know right..
and its just one after another joke like like that....

sooo heres something interesting about the last pic..
on the left is a horse head skull that we glued big sharp teeth
and spikes on his nose...and all down his back
                what you cant see is
he is a total prehistoric looking skeleton wired together..
when the crowd approached an actor would rattle the bones to kick off the show
and when people looked at the skeleton..
                maggy otts would fly up..
                throwing wet rice
then the actor fly's up from right behind them
                man it takes me back...

Ahh yes...The Tree...then the head...and If i remember right Tim, there was a Deers head that did the same thing in later years...however, each one of those has called me Gillian and Don Knotts....was a good time indeed
Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're an asshole.

yes yes the talking deer head was hilarious too

a steel frame with a tanned deer hide n glass eyes ..
it was a hand puppet with your actor behind the wall
on the mic with one liners like u want some deer meat ??

thinking of the old days n Kevin Averys comment on quality and feeling like a douche
                      reminds me of yucky man
we made him in the shop
and a friends 6 year old was there
and i scared him with it
he cried and i loved that kid
and he would never come in my shop any more
and i felt like a douche
                      poor kid

he operated with a wiper motor and was crawling out of a grave..
shoulders n arms n hands movin back in forth
we have changed some motors btw
he still operates today .... 18 years later

Seeing these great pictures of yester years makes me want to pull out some old photos and post them.
But that would require some investment of time since I have loads of old photos. I would love to do this, and you know what. I will.
this is going to have to happen when I have some free time.
keep posting the pics. I am lovin it.
