  • Haunted House Filming Eqipment

For all those Haunters out there that actually film people being scared inside your dimly lit haunt:

    1. What type of camera do you use to see in the dimly lit areas?
    2. Are there any special lenses?
    3. Any special type of sensors to set the camera offor do you just leave it running the whole time and edit later?
    4. Any special film to capture? Or do you use regular digital?

    Thanks

What we have used in the past is very crude by current standards.
We are planning upon getting a DVR unit with motion-detection cameras, they can film numerous screens simultaneously and then you can enlarge the picture that interests you later. The motion switched camera saves alot of empty recording too.
We currently have 100's of tapes full of past tours and do you think we ever have the time to watch them? No!
I guess some DVR units can record several weeks of action at a time?
Ghost-Hunters who were here a couple of times had such a unit.

      1. Get any camera with at least 3 CCD's. I reccomend a Sony or Canon HD camera.

      2. Most cameras will come with the lense.

      3. Just make sure you have auto exposure on, auto focus on, and you must adjust the white balance yourself. Also, it's nice to get a camera with some type of "nightshot" or dark lighting setting!

      4. I would suggest going on a Mini-DV format.

      Hope this helps. -Tyler
