  • New to SC Area - looking for haunt suggestions

I don't really know if this is the right place to post this, so please forgive me if it's not.

My boyfriend and I like to consider ourselves semi-pro-haunt freaks. Basically, around October 1st, we get all geared up for what we like to call our "Halloween Season" and then we spend the next month, up until Oct 31st, visiting every local haunt we can find.

Here's my dilemma: we just moved to Charleston, SC from Philadelphia, PA. Last season, we visited around eight or nine haunts (Jason's Woods, Shocktoberfest, Field of Screams, Valley of Fear, Arasapha Farms, to name a few) and I'd like to make this season just as memorable by visiting new local haunts in the South Carolina area. But they don't seem as prominent down here.

Does anyone have any suggestions for ones we can visit this season? We're willing to drive two or three hours, possibly four - we're willing to go into Georgia and NC too.

I'd love to hear recommendations as Halloween just won't seem the same unless I can get my fix of haunts.

    Thanks,
    Kristy

      Hi!

      I'm in the Columbia area.
SC has lots of haunted attractions.
Unfortunately many of them don't have a very good "web" presence.

Here's some links to SC haunts that DO have websites...

For that big amusement park scare check out Scarowinds:

If you haven't seen it, I highly reccomend the Ghosts & Legends Theatre in Myrtle Beach.
      http://www.ghostshows.com/

It's open year-round and it's one of the best haunted attractions this side of Disney.
Be sure to check out Ripley's Haunted Adventure and the Nightmare Haunted House while you're there.
