  • ???? Anyone know how to make a water mister????????

I know you can buy the kits but Does anyone have an easy and cheap way to make a water mister?

It is $75 at frightprops...that is a bargain. Ghetto rigs cost about $20 less and and are not as reliable. I am pretty cheap, but I sprang for these.

      idea

I haven't made this but thought about still may. It just depends if you want a manual one or not but I thought about gettiing a bulb mister and attaching it to a hose and put some faucet nossel on the end and putting it in a stuffed head or prop. You could have the person in the next room operate it! Put a peep hole for them too see in the room the customers are in before they get to his scare. Nothing wrong w your actors multitasking! Goodluck!

http://www.frightprops.com/magento/m...owtomister.jpg They tell you in there how to make kits link on there frightprops site. I also made one a couple years ago using two low voltage valves used for ice makers, I programmed one to put water into the line just before the other blasted the air in the line.

I think the link Dreamreaper meant was -- http://www.frightprops.com/faq/index...=59&artlang=en

But last season I was torn between building the frightprops version (which they sell ALL the pieces for the kit -- http://www.frightprops.com/how-to-ma...ter-parts.html) or just buy the fully assembled kit for $75. Like Allen, we just bought the finished product and had our own controller. We were in a time crunch and couldn't risk messing it up. Of course, as with all FP products, it shipped fast and worked flawlessly. But either way you go, you should be successful! Good luck!!

Or if you are looking for a long run... I saw Home Depot , Kmart etc have a Plant Mister system for $30. If you are looking for a constant mist system. You can buy the rain bird plug ins and hose kit to get different effects also. And you can buy the $20 manifold if you want to do it at random intervals.

Holler if you got questions but check out the Plumbing / Automatic Sprinkler Yard System area. Or Plants/Garden area in Wally World or Kmart.

If you really want to do it on the cheap. Buy a spray bottle from Home Depot cut a whole in your wall that is about the size of the nozzle on the sprayer. Next attach a piece of wood on the back of the panel, this will act as a platform for the sprayer. Cut another hole for the operator to see when people are coming and your good to go. This is the ultra cheap way.

there are other ways of course. An electric water gun can be reconfigured and the trigger extended. A swiffer wet jet can also be reconfigured to do controlled bursts. both of those are electrically operated items that mist water.
This is kind of an old thread by the way
                  good luck,

Like was already said- making them is fairly easy and cheap, but my experience always had a degree of hit and miss with a really nice spray.

What I want to know is- what is that little box inside Spitting Debbie's head called?! Thats the air/water sprayer thingamabob and its a pre-made, purpose built thing that has to be found somewhere off the shelf.

Mount the thing, plug in the air, plug in the water, BAM- done. Anyone?

Dark Raven took a WAAAY different approach on their spitting snake. I marveled at it when I saw it. A lot more expensive than I would purposely plan to spend, but it does put out a really great spray and at high pressure.
