Hello everyone.. been looking to try to create our own UV reactive paint that can withstand weather, maybe acrylic based.. because real UV paint can be pretty costly, as everyone knows. Maybe theres an additive for regular paint? Any suggestions? Thanks...

Not a lot of ways around the cost of UV paint. You could try buying the florescent pigments and adding them to a cheap paint base you could get at Wal-mart. I've done this with a blood colored pigment and a gallon of semi-gloss paint, but I've never done it to make UV paint, but no reason it shouldn't work. It may save you some if you can find the pigments at a good price.

Here is a link for paint pigments ( I used these guys when I was experimenting with monster mud). I just buy my paint from day-glo. They are about $100 gallon but a little goes a long way. in paint, you get what you pay for. The hassle of mixing your own and the chance you will ruin a batch makes buying it make sense.
