How about cheese cloth. Anyone heard of a "flame retardant" cheese cloth? Or is this something that must be sprayed? If it is to be sprayed are there any problems with it as far as saturation, etc.?

Spray it.
If you get the cheapy colored cloth, it's gonna drip dye off of it.
I'd soak it, not just spray it.
Only my thoughts after reading about it.

As Usual I agree with frightener, dunk it and soak it.
I sprayed mine with fireshield and the cheese cloth swatch passed.

Great thanks guys. I was hoping that would work beings the cheesecloth is so lightweight/flimsy...wasn't sure it'd hold up to a swatch test. I'm buying a 100 yard bolt...wonder if i left if rolled up and soaked/submerged it in a barrel it would work the same?

It will work, just leave it in there for a day so it has time to penetrate.
