  • SOUND Activated Light controller ??

    does anyone know of a source that makes a very cheap light controller from sound ??

    trying to make a pumpkin talk ...

    No lightning controllers , i have those and they are being used ...

    something at Home Depot or Lowes ?? .. like a screw in light socket with a sound control ???

      LOL !!! ... Allen

      i want to control my giant Pumpkin talking through me .. talking on a wireless microphone

      i want to interact with my trick r treaters .... light inside the pumpkin dims when i talk ...

      i thought maybe they made something cheap i could put next to my pumpkin and my speakers would activate the light ...


      just like my firefly .... might just have to buy another firefly tomorrow ..

        You need a relay.
        Sound on the input side and 110volt on the output side.
        The trick is your audio going to the input has to be really loud to trigger the 110.
        You can get them at almost any electronic store.
        Not sure about radio shack though.

          Vox

          You need what is called a VOX (voice activated switch), however, there are many types (latching, non-latching) and the switch is a relay that may or may not handle the load of your light. You can find them all over the web for about $15.

          Since time is short and if all else fails put a momentary (normally closed) plunger switch in-line with the light and push it when you speak. Cost about $2 and two mins to install.
