2013 looking for scene ideas

Hey Guys,

I have a cafeteria scene that is lacking. I have a real glass front curved food display cabinet. I know I can gore this scene up but I want to do better and give it a WOW factor. I'm thinking bug projected effect. Maybe live mice or rats in the cabinet. Maybe projected roaches coming out of the wall. But what else? Give me your ideas. I want to make this scene memorable. Lighting fx, sound, your thoughts. Free beer at Legendary Haunt for the best idea?

Im telling you, you cant go wrong with a falling florescent light fixture, but here are a few ideas.

Drop panel menu board (small enough writing they get closer to read it, and interesting stuff on it to read (just a line or two)

put speakers under the steam table and play bass notes to affect non-Newtonian fluids (simple cornstarch, water, vinegar, and food coloring)...like this

or put burp monsters in the steam table pans. (make your own)

If you put a small personal massager in a pan and fill it with rice, the rice will squirm like maggots, looks pretty good.
Im kinda focusing on the service line,but if you want me to steer away from the buffet line I can throw a few more ideas your way.

Costume and Prop:

A tall, large waitress(intimidating!) acting rude, threatning.
She hands out the Menu, she has crossed out some letters, substituting a few new letters and "Menu" becomes "Men I Knew!".
You open it up and there is a small mirror showing the victim his own face!
She pulls a newborn infant , all wrapped up tight, from behind herself and shoves it into their face!
"It's YOURS! Now YOU can take care of it!"
Positively TERRIFYING!!
