I had this idea in my book that uses servos motors to make eyes blink while inside plant veins. Well, actually the drawing (in the book) is a plant like the “Audrey” with eyes instead of a mouth. The drawing, is not an invention of mine, it was more of a reminder to someday make one. I passed the drawing again recently as I keep adding and updating the ideas inside, and thought I would share it with you.
In almost every haunt I have seen, part of the décor uses long latex plant vines. These are most widely used in outdoor sets. I figure along the vines, were pods. These pods open revealing eyes or mouths. This would look cool if there were a lot of plant life in the scene and lots of these vines with eyes.
The eyes or mouths open using servos placed inside the eye. The wires to each servo run inside each vine then into a control box.
_You could also make a Venus fly trap that moves hiding the servo behind one of the closing jaws. The plant, placed in a room, never gets seen from all sides anyway so a servo hanging out the back of a jaw will not be seen. –Or build the servo inside the pot running wires up through the plant stem to control the movement of the jaws.
