  • Skin Texturing techniques for clay sculpting

I just wanted to start conversation of what techniques people are using for their clay mask sculptures...etc I'll list serveral here and hopefully get some input from other members... there alot of household items I found to be pretty effective texturing...

    1) using seran wrap for human like skin texturing
    2) make hard mold of an orange skin and use it
    3) Nylon meshing for snake/scale like appearances
    4) reynolds wrap all crinkled up

I sculpt mostly in water based clay, so it takes textures easily. a few of my favorites are crinkled tinfoil, and a short bristled chip brush just jabbed in over and over. I also use leather stamping tools on the clay for texture.
