  • Buying masks at Transworld. Can anyone help me.

Was wondering how many, if any of the vendors sell masks individually? Do they bring masks that you can buy on the spot?

  • #2
Most vendors only bring one of each design they wish to showcase, and while you can't buy it on the spot through the whole show, most vendors DON'T want to haul anything back home, so "cash-and-carry" specials are pretty much the highlight of the show closing, not only do you get the show pricing, but you usually get an even deeper discount for saving the vendor the time to pack it all back up.

Be warned though, there are thousands of people going to the show, and only so many mask vendors, each with only one of each design... the chances of getting exactly what you want are slim to none if you aren't diligent. The early zombie eats the brains.

Just take out your check book, and write a check to ALLEN HOOPS. Sells one of a kind masks right off the tradeshow floor and they are great looking and quailty. But he usually sells out pretty quick so get to his booth early

Let me just add something to Mat and Tater:

-If you are going to buy displays anything from the TW show, especially silicone masks, you have to be one of the first ones in the door Thursday morning, don't wait to ask or buy floor samples, you will be out of luck!

-Find out where Allen's booth is and head their first, my show uses some of his masks, good quality, all one of a kind, most range from $90-$125, they are worth it though.

Many of the silicone mask vendors if they sell their show mask, only have 1 per mask model if you're lucky, Zagone Studios usually brings lots of masks to sell on the spot, there's 2 or 3 other mask people that do mostly latex stuff that did a lot of cash and carry.

If you're going to Midwest Haunters, they are pretty much cash and carry everything and you can find a lot of masks at this show.

              Hi

Very nice of you guys to say such nice things about my masks. I sell cash and carry at the show, each mask is unique. I have masks in several themes, but each mask is its own creation. Im bringing close to 250 masks this year so I hope to have stock until the last day of the show. They will be $100 each. When I am out, I am out Im afraid I dont really take orders because they are so unique It would be very difficult to replicate a certain look.I hope to see you at the show...but do find me fast! Im in booth #505

As usual, I'm late to the party here. Just do what everyone else suggested and bring money for Allen Hopps and Stiltbeast Studios. Amazing custom masks.

I must be a twit I don't know what twitter Tuesday is. Shit I just got YouTube Wednesday figured out, why is it not alway on Wednesday, I think that Allen guy needs a calendar, I will bring him one to the TW show and highlight all Wednesday for the year, Tater do you want me to bring you one with Tuesday highlighted. And don't even start on Facebook for 2 years all these people have been asking to be my friend, dam it I can't even remember my password to the dam thing much less who the hell all these people are. But one thing I do know is if you are not in Allen's "Custom Mask Mosh Pit" at the begaining of the show it is tough to get one of his mask. He has one of the most popular booths at the show and 250 mask may make it a day and a half to two days. Saw one I wanted last year and the crowd was to large went back a couple of hours later and it was gone and most of the others too. If you see it in Stiltbeast booth and you like it, you better grab it and buy it or it will be gone. He will be one of my first stops for sure.

I wonder if any other vendors would be down with paying for the display mask then having me pick it back up Sunday? I'd be down with that. haha ...Long as i don't get ganked walking back out to the parking garage with my goods haha ( I live in st.louis so i know it too well for that to be serious)

The next Big Scary Show (out on 1/25) will feature a Roundtable on mask-makers (including a couple who are in this very thread) and includes their booth numbers so you can find them.
