      Holy crap! Not good.

Topham should also sue them for whatever they paid for that website, since it seems like Darknet threw them under the bus in this situation, especially since Topham is doing this home haunt for a major children's hospital. I don't think a guy looking to raise money for "sick kids" (the name of the hospital, as it happens), is looking to be a crook, con, or rip-off office.

Whooooaaa there..... Now before we start accusing someone of being associated with any kind of child porn or hacking, please be sure of what your saying first. The term "dark net" is an associated term by certain black hat hacking groups and law enforcement agencies to refer to private networks or torrent networks used by groups to transfer private files and content that is ment for a private group. It seems that this is just a business name that is associated with another terminology that can be used for illegal activities sometimes. So please don't jump to conclusions here and accusing someone of some seriosly illegal activites like child porn simply because of a blind google search.

I've never heard of this web designer before, but just doing a quick lookup seems that this person named Justin has been active on the hauntworld forums since 2008 as "hauntmisery". You can also find some post here talking about his services.

          http://www.hauntworld.com/haunted_ho...eb-Design-Sale!

          http://www.hauntworld.com/haunted_ho...eb-Design-Sale!

And here is another member recommending him - http://www.hauntworld.com/haunted_ho...arknet-Designs!

If this guy is stealing content and images from another designer and passing it off as his own work, and to top it off, reselling it to his clients, then:

          1. He should be sued by the original designer for copyright infringement and the website that is currently using the design and work they paid for and hold the current copyrights.

          2. He should be sued by the clients he sold that stolen work to for putting them in a actionable situation by the other haunt and misrepresenting himself to them as having the legal copyrights to the stolen work.

          3. And everyone should know what kind of lazy ass thief they are for trying to rip off everyone if that's what really happened.

I seriously can't believe that people still think they won't get caught considering how small and tight a community the haunt industry is. They think they can make a quick buck and nobody will catch them in the act.

And a friendly reminder (because I'm tried of seeing this crap).... Unless you have attended law school, studied entertainment and/or copyright law in depth, are a practicing lawyer, or have consulted an attorney about any potential legal ramifications from using another persons art, assume you have no idea what the hell you are talking about and have no legal right to use another's work. STOP STEALING AND SELLING IT AS YOUR OWN WORK! You a thief and don't be surprised when you get sued, as you should!

This is a update from Rouges Hollow....

            UPDATE 2/11/13
I spoke with the owner of Topham Terror who admitted that the designer of this website, DarkNET Designs had nothing to do with the artwork from Blood Manor. Topham now claims they purchased the artwork and video from someone on Hauntworld but can’t remember the name apparently. Yeah, right. So anyway I want to make it clear that DarkNET did not knowingly use the copyrighted artwork from Blood Manor.com.
So it looks like the DarkNet designer had nothing to do with the art theft, which is good for them and clears their name. It seems like we have a good old fashion case of a haunt owner trying to rip off video from one haunt and pass it off as their own. I remember that Scott from Scarehouse had a similar problem with another haunt trying to pass off a scarehouse video or clip of it as their own recently too.

PLEASE, STOP TRYING TO STEAL ONE HAUNTS VIDEOS / ARTWORK AS YOUR OWN. If you are not that creative to come up with your own unique characters and content without ripping off someone else, reconsider your current line of work.

Man... This kind of stuff pisses me off. Glad Darknet didn't have anything to do with it.

6-7 years ago I had a trademark in another business get infringed upon by a person registering the same name with a dash on ebay. They mistakenly thought that by adding a dash to it changed it up enough. This person sold similar but cheaper made parts which I started catching flack over. I bought a $6 part from this person and was able to request a phone number through ebay. This $6 part was also very close to one of my parts. I used this part as evidence of infringement to ebay. I called the sellers number a few times and finally a girl answered. Get this... This girl turns out to be a struggling law student. I told her she should know more about infringement than I do. Anyways I argued every point she had into the ground. She simply told me I was a mean person. She refused to change her name so I filed a dispute with ebay. Ebay didn't mess around. Gave her 5 days to change it. She didn't so ebay did it for her.

Fast forward to 2011. The guys in a neighboring haunt managed somehow to copy the layout and other features from both sides of my flyer. I know the guys at this haunt. It's like what were you thinking? Because of this incident I changed and trademarked my name to Creepy Works. Had Brainstorm come up with a nice logo and background. I spent a lot of time and money pushing paperwork and reorganizing things so this will not happen again. Now I am just waiting for some pecker head to come along and try to rip something off. All I got to say is I'm not going to be nice to the next guy whether I know them or not.

This is the 3rd time this has happened to us on the same video. It's down now and I know the artwork that Rogues Hollow created is down too. They are blaming each other, but they got caught and it is down. All that matters.

It seems like as an industry of supposed creative professionals, there seems to be lack of each. People lack creativity and just copy everyone else or rip their ideas and pretend they came up with it.
I'm glad you found out about this creep.

Bart I like your clown too, I think I will copy your video. You don't mind do you everyone else seem to be using it. Just kidding, I will say this, you do some nice videos and I see why somebody wants to use them. But I know all you Texans have guns so I'm not going to piss you off. Like I said before I hope that this stuff will stop and the only way to do that is to be aggressive toward those who do it. If Darknet did not have anything to do with it, then I hope that this sets the tone for all web designers to make sure thier clients have rights for the content they send in. One thing you can do is a watermark on your video, I notice that Ben Armstong put a watermark on everything he post on HW.

                      Dont steal from me

My other career (yes, some of us have day jobs that take us down different paths) I have the good fortune to have published 5 books, all published through McGraw-Hill. These books (all technical by the way) sell all over the world, and I have to check regularly for illegal copies being made available on blogs electronically, or sold in other countries (I ahve caught China publishers twice already). I also hold numerous patents (the lawyers do a good job policing those).

It burns my hide when I see copyrights and patents infringed on. Our ideas belong to us. They are our livelyhood. I spent hundreds of hours and made many personal sacrifices to get published, and then some jerk comes along, steals my content, and sells it at half my price. They are taking food from my table. And that really chaps me. My kids all know too well how I fell about these crooks - I preach to them all the time about music downloads and book downloads. Now they always ask me if a particular site is legal before downloading things.

I thnk we should do as other countries do with thieves. If you are caught stealing, they cut off a hand. Caught again, the other hand. Sounds drastic, but i think we are just too candy-*ssed sometimes.
