  • Opinions on a "Scream Again Pass"

I am looking for some input on a "scream again pass" which would allow for a costumer to enter the haunt a second time for a reduced price after purchasing a regular ticket. How many of you have tried doing this? The one thing I'm concerned about is people giving the pass to one of their friends to use instead of buying a regular ticket, this is probably the main problem. What do you think?

We thought about this last season, and to remedy it we thought of wristbands...the plastic type. Two-fold: in theory you can't take the band off, and if you get the stubbed kind, first entry is stubbed & subsequent entry is reduced price with just the band. If your haunt name is on it then you get free word of mouth from curious people who inquire about your customers band. We didn't actually do it, but that was the concept.

Yes, it's a great idea but it has to be controlled- Its not very special if you can do it any day.

We have full color printed tickets that have 4 punch marks on them- 1 is punched at the door when they enter the house, 2 is used to buy another ticket at half price (good on certain nights only)- it is punched at the ticket booth and given back with the new ticket, 3 and 4 are used for other things.

Why do we give back punched out tickets? Because it has our sponsor coupon on the back and its advertising! That ticket may end up in a coat pocket or dashboard or where ever, to be found later and looked at!

Half-price is cool, just please don't set-up any "unlimited" systems. A couple years ago I was an actor at a haunted ghost town just outside of Las Vegas, and they had a "pay one price, go through all the haunts an unlimited amount of times" policy. What ended up happening was that pre-teen boys would go through again and again, until they knew all of our hiding places. Then they would come through and point us out (ahead of time) to newer groups walking through. To be eloquent, it sucked.

Other issue is slipping bands off and giving them to others to get half price admission.

Our haunt offers it, but we hardly ever get any bites on it. We do half off for a second time through. Ticket is ripped in half, ticket number is marked on their hand, and after they go through with the ripped ticket, we put a big X on it so that's it. Again though, hardly any bites - maybe 6 per night.
