    Hayride wagons kind of ?

Hi I have run The Reaper's Realm Haunted Forest Ride near Sarnia Ontario Canada since opening in 2001. I don't use hay wagons because our insurance company frowned on them for some reason so we had to come up with something different. We went with customized school busses. they are fairly cheap and easy to get your hands on and they are self propelled. The customers are safely seated in the bus, kind of! Here are some pics of a couple of our toppless reapermobiles.

      Double Function Hay Wagons...

Our haunted hayride takes place at our sod farm in maryland. We already had some "tandom" wagons that will hold 10 tons. We sit people on the floor and have 18" sides. In the past, we have loaded people from the rear and sides with mobile stairs, but they're a bitch to move. This year, we're going to loading platforms to load people faster.
We opened up one night last October where the ground was pretty wet. One of our actors slipped and had his leg ran over by the wagon. He was wearing flat bottom converse shoes... (against our policies) and the tandom wagon's weight was distributed so he didn't break anything. Our wagons are 28x8... but we don't have any hair-pin turns in the ride.

LOVE the school bus idea though. A local produce farm has school buses that they cut the tops off of and use to transport pumpkins and watermealons... Pretty cool
