  • Here's a little bit if what I've been up to

Hello... It's been quite some time since I've posted any art and I've tried posting a photo but seems like Larry needs to fix that ?

    Here's a new mask...

I would love to hear what you have to say about the new work ... So FIRE AWAY !!

The brain has a air bladder that allows the wearer to make the brain pulsate... I've sold approx 10 of these latex masks at $150 / thick latex mask with air bladder and $100 for thick latex mask without bladder.

Not trying to sell on this page... I'm just sharing in the larger part of the site for general discussion.

I haven't updated the website in SOME time now, haven't had time with life's chores commission jobs and odds and ends movie work.

Please forgive the paint job on this mask ... It was only a fast 20 min. Wash / airbrush.

Hair is hand punched and secured inside.

Latex Vs. Silicone V.s. Foam Latex

      Curious what haunters think...

Latex is durable, Silicone rips, foam rips....

      What's your preference and why?

Full head latex masks v.s. half ?

      Cost of Silicone?

      Prosthetics ?

        Another question -

Would any of you be nate tested in foam latex creature suits ?

Your sculpts and painting are really good!

I think the question comes down to is usage. For line entertainment, actors that would be up close on potentially on camera...latex masks are NOT the way to go. At least I don't think so. You'd want something with some natural movement to it that, hopefully, is actor controlled. This is where the foam masks and silicone masks are preferred. That said, latex masks will do in ANY other haunt scenario.

Great work. Can't wait to see more from you.

                Thanks Tyler

Thanks for taking a moment to answer my questions Tyler...

I couldn't agree more. I've seen beautiful masks SHREDDED by various types of actors, cue line, in house, etc.
it all depends on the actor of course...
I aim at making latex masks better, not saying that I will only produce latex masks but I love the durability of latex vs. silicone and foam. I don't think latex is out of the question for photos / videos when thinking of news teams...
I am trying to get ready to run foam masks... Not sure if I will ever produce silicone but it HAS been a thought.

If latex masks could produce SOME movement in a new improved way I think they could return since they offer durability.
Of course this has been tried in the past but I have a few designs that MAY change how people look at latex masks...
                ( I hope ? )
I'd say the biggest problem I deal with every year is the fact that latex masks are either to big or to small, they don't stretch. I HATE big masks so I try to hit a middle size, not to small but not to big. This mask hits that goal.. The chin is hidden in a pocket behind the tongue.

Thanks for your compliment, this paint job was one of my quickest ever... Sometimes less = more and this mask proves it.
Future mask orders I received recently will have the same paint job but with a bit more detail.

As always I share freely and LOVE criticisms so I post now and then.. Replies from haunters help me gauge interest.

Haunters are always expressing that they want some input in what gets created so I can fill that need.. I love to hear people's ideas so please keep the ideas / criticisms / praises coming!

                  New haunt fad 2014

I think this years haunt fad will focus on black light scares...
Masks painted in black light reflective paints, props, animatronics etc.

                  I LOVE THIS IDEA !!

Black lighting makes it easy to hide / blend shot comings in haunted houses and if done correctly provides a environment that separates the patron from reality and sells the effect.
The problem with black lighting ( in my opinion ) is that you usually need a TON of black lighting to sell the effect.
I can't wait to see if I'm correct... I'd love to play with paints that work with black lighting.. With this said there aren't many masks that are used in black light.

We're currently working on some ideas for 2014 so I'd LOVE to hear what you people are interested in !

                  Thanks,

                  B.

It looks great. PM the asking price if you don't mind.

Personally, I'm surprised we are not seeing more latex or foam latex sock-mask type pieces.

I'm sure this would present some challenges due to latex rigidity, but it's not impossible.

Cost, fit (which is actually appearance), and comfort. Get those 3 things together in a latex sock mask and I will buy them.

                      Thank you

I love interaction between vendors and clients... It's how we hit the mark AND how we create better quality products.
Unfortunately there's never enough of that interaction... I'd love to see this change.

If you ask ANY of our clients and interested customers - that interaction is present and #1 with me...
                      And ALWAYS WILL BE !

Thank you for your compliment, I look forward to creating a better product for you or anyone who has interest in seeing products grow in quality.

Look forward to talking to you...

                      B.

                        Sock masks

Is there still a big interest in latex or foam latex sock masks ?

If there is wed be happy to fill the need... I love art in all forms and would love to do anything different.
That's what's different with me than most. I have a genuine love for what I do... I'm up for any challenge and am willing to grow as an artist. Sure cash pays the bills, but myself as a maturing artist I'm more interested in the art.

I'm working on some larger items / sculpts right now... Not because someone asked me to, not because I think it will make money, but because I have an interest in sculpting and growing as a sculptor...

So YES, there is a full size / dead naked female body on my work bench ... Lol ( in other forums that might raise a few eyebrows / concerns )

                        LOL !!

                            Transworld

First of all ( And more importantly ) I'd like to say - Thank You for response and Thank You for your compliment.

We choose not to attend Transworld, it's to far to travel, and to expensive in my opinion... We WILL be at MHC and possibly a few other shows. Transworld is a great show for large orders and ( Maybe ) we will consider it in the future? But we receive enough orders presently to keep us happily employed throughout the year.

We strive to create quality items and don't have the manpower yet to cover orders of that magnitude while keeping the quality we currently offer.

The website needs updated badly, ( my apologies were working on it ) we've got TONS to upload if I ever find the time to slow down ...lol

Feel free to add us on Instagram and facebook ... I'm always showing off our work on there...

Hope to see you at MHC 2014 !!
