A 20 year old girl who lives near my haunt told me yesterday that I should contact this guy because 'he knows a lot about this stuff', 'he can even help with PTSD after Halloween, to check up on you". WHAT?? Is this PTSD from the stress of the season or because I was stupid enough to go to his haunt or even watch his videos??
Obviously to her, I could learn a thing or two from this guy. I told her he doesn't in any way represent what I do and that IMO that is fetishism and shouldn't be associated with Halloween. What really bothers me is she thought he was the high bar we should all be reaching for!!!To bring back a phrase from my you, I'm totally grossed out!

These types of haunts are lost on me. Forgetting about the "is it offensive?" question, I really feel like I would just be terribly annoyed throughout the whole experience.

I can imagine politely asking actors questions throughout:
"Can you please stop screaming in my ear?"
"Are there showers available when this is over?"
"Your breath kinda smells, can you just back off for a second?"

Also leads me to question the mental stability of anyone in the ad or anyone who goes for this stuff. They seem to be truly fearing for their life. Are they incapable of stopping and realizing that these are paid actors? That's more scary than anything. Inability to separate reality from fantasy is not good. They are adults no less.

So people are volunteering to be abused and tortured? I'm really hoping that only a very, very small segment of the haunt audience want to experience that kind of thing. If this is what the majority of the kids want these days, I think I'd have to quit. I like haunts based on fantasy and fiction, with cool special effects. If I want to see abuse and torture, I can just read the paper or watch the news.

What's frightening is that this is a home haunt, so those doing the torturing and abusing are probably volunteers. Let's think for a minute about the kind of person who would volunteer to spend their time torturing and abusing others...

these so called extreme haunts are a joke!

they rely on gross out scares and only show the weakest patrons going thru! i would go thru any of them however they want! only way u will get me maybe is a direct kick to the growin and i will block that shit! give me the traditional haunted mansion theme & scares any day! oh and granny calls them like she sees them! loll!

Pay close attention to smear the entire industry comment. This has probably been the most down in 10 years Positive PR for the industry... due to accidents, and serial killer haunts. Most of the PR has been negative.

New haunt operated by an adult film company.

A friend in Canada went to this haunt an sent me this story about it. It is operated by an adult film/website company. It got a positive response in this article anyway. I wonder if anyone in the USA will try something like this next year.
