To be honest, if an actor pops out and screams "pizza" and still manages to get my heart to skip a beat or even step back slightly, the actor gets an A+. Or even if their timing is proper.
I think timing is more important than anything, unless you're setting up a distraction for something else.
One of our actors was asking patrons if they would like their toes to be served with butter or gravy. Actually creeped a lot of them out! Sounds strange, but it worked. Aha just what this thread reminded me of.
It seems like I've heard, "I see you", "We can see you" at every haunt I've ever been through. Glad you can see me! Had one say "I can smell you" never knew whether to take that as a compliment or an insult
