  • Painting Great Stuff

What's the best type of paint for Great Stuff Foam Insulation? Finished this up last weekend and the paint is already flaking off a little. I used acrylic craft paint and a water based clear varnish. It's going to be carried around and probably take some abuse and I'd like it to look decent as long as possible. Thanks

It's been a while since I painted any great stuff, but I used spray paint. Unlike beaded foam, it won't eat the surface, and it holds up really well.

We usually used spray paint just to give it a lot of depth. We sprayed a glossy acrylic coat over the painted great stuff and it held up fairly well...only when it took a major beating and the great stuff, itself, got busted up did the paint come off, too.
