  • Probing Insurance details...

So we all know we NEED insurance. Any details or questions you'd like to touch upon, input is greatly appreciated.

    1. Premium. What is your premium? Also if you don't mind sharing the details, what coverage do you have?

    2. Is there anything in particular that significantly raised your costs? IE: Soft floors etc.

    3. Ever had a claim? If so minor details? How was the insurance experience?

    Outdoor, open-air, walk-thru, home-haunt.
We were open every weekend thru October and the entire week of Halloween.
    5,000 square feet.
We paid ~ $650 for 1,000,000 per incident liability coverage.
I spoke with two professional haunt owners in the area; one paid $2,000 for the season, the other paid $2,400 for the same (1,000,000) coverage.
    We used Ken Donat insurance.
    No claims (knock on wood).

      Haunt Insurance Specialist

I was just about to say Ken is our go to guy. He works hard and knows the market and industry like the back of his hand. Licensed in several states, if not all. Just Google Ken Donat insurance. You should find him. (I am an insurance agent myself, but Ken can place those higher risks for you!)

I think we paid in the 4000 dollar range for 1 million per occurrence with 2 maybe 3 million aggregate. Interesting topic hope more people share. Who are some of the different insurance companies people use in the industry?

I meant to update. I've been in contact with Ken and he seems to have the best deal so far (just called others for curiosity) And though I can't say what we were quoted, but it's less than a grand, but than again, we're having a small attraction, and guessing at about 1,000 in attendance. I can assume that we'll have to set up at one of the locations we like the least, which I think we'll do 1,000. If we do, it'll pay for most of our investment and hopefully raise quite a bit of food for donations.
