Bad news seems to travel fast when talking prop makers; so I take time to give a shout out to those who do well and service what they sell. Bought a Spooky Props "classic" cattle prod several years ago. Took the majority of the broken prop to Transworld this year. Never did get exact story as to how it broke from actors; but it looked like they beat customers with it, stomped on it, then ran it over with a truck. Normal carrying and dropping would not do what they did to it. So I went with plans of buying another one and see if any fix to this. John at Spooky Props fixed and updated it at no charge. Ordered a second one as well. For a $165 prop it is a VERY GOOD hand prop that can turn a actor with mediocre haunting skills (your cousins kid you have to hire) into effective startle. No cords or heavy battery pack required. A simple 9 volt battery is all it uses. And it lasts for years. That is; until you beat your cousins kid over the head with it.
