Hey There Sparky, is that electricity from those fingertips?

Does anyone have a suggestion for generating sparks from fingertips for a mad doctor type costume? The idea would be that sparks appear from the fingertips to a metal contact point or an electrical arc could be seen between each hands fingertips.

I can not for the life of me find a proper search topic on the internet to find such a device. I know there are some small novelty type accessories for costuming and magic, but I am looking for something a little more powerful.

Any suggestion?
