Moved up a month?

Just curious, why did you guys decide to move the convention up a month?

Brandon,

There were a number of factors that came into play with the decision to move to June. Primarily it was due to the availability of a facility and hotel rooms. MHC has grown to the point where there is no single hotel can host us. So we are limited to the Columbus Convention Center and the surrounding hotels and their schedule is very busy during the summer.

When you combine the facility availability with the fact that 99% of the people we spoke with (vendors and attendees) said that June would be much better for them, the change just made sense.

I was just curious. Running in the middle of July has always worked really well for me. I do the PA (sound) system for the Franklin County Fair and MWHC has always fallen on the opening weekend of the fair, which has always been a big bonus for me as I'm already in Columbus.

Ah well, Columbus is only 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh, plus it gives me a chance to catch up with some friends in the area.
