  • Rocky Point Haunted House MOVIE!!!

I am not 100% sure, but it seems the movie House of Fears was filmed at Rocky Point before it closed. Cydney Neil is credited for the production design, even looks like they use some of their artwork for the promotion of the movie...

    House of Fears (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1002992/)

Tagline: Six friends sneak into a haunted house the night before it opens for Halloween, only to find that their evening of fun has turned into their worst nightmare.

    Plot Synopsis:
    Warning! This synopsis contains spoilers:

The night before a local spook alley opens, three of its employees sneak back in for a fun night scaring their dates. Soon after entering, they find themselves trapped inside with no way out. Their evening of fun rapidly turns into their worst nightmare as they begin to die and disappear in the most freakish of manners. With every effort to escape blocked, the survivors find themselves being driven deeper into the carnivalesque world of terror. Unable to tell what is real and what is counterfeit, they must trust one anothereven if it kills them.

Sounds a lot like this movie - The Funhouse (1981)

same concept, maybe a remake with a different name?

I would agree that the haunted house scenes are the Rocky Point show. I'm glad it got captured on film before it was closed! I had the pleasure of going to the Final Fear event, and this will be a good item to purchase to help preserve the memories ;-)

Not sure, but I think some of this may have been being filmed during the auction. I do recall seeing some people filming while I was there.

Anybody know a release date? Direct to video date? Couldn't find a website for it other than IMDB, anyone else find anythiing?

Yes it was filmed at Rocky Point. I was there the last two weekends during Scream Break and they were filming during the day time.

Allrighty, this director has worked with a couple of friends of mine on previous film projects, friends who knew I had a haunted house in Utah back in the late 90s called "The House of Fear."

House of FearS? House of Fear? (winky, winky)

What cracks me up is that this guy's previous work is very religious / faith oriented and now he's doing something so radically different. Being LDS myself and having graduated from film school at BYU, I know it's very possible to create a scary movie and/or haunted house and not be offensive, so I'm curious how this film eventually turns out.

If anything, it will be a GREAT scrapbook of Rocky Point, may it rest in piece (sniff).
