  • Kennywood GhostWood Estates

Well Kennywood finally has released a press release about their new ride called Ghostwood Estates. Our company (HPI) has been hired to design and create the interior ride, which includes all the animations, cgi effects, special effects, sound fx, and more. The ride will have an awesome facade, which Kennywood is building themselves. I've seen the design and it looks just breathtaking.

The ride system will be a trackless system provided by ETF Systems.

The ride will be like Disney's haunted mansion, but only with interactive targets, which customers will shoot with guns from inside the ride vehicles. This ride will NOT be in blacklight, it will be your cobwebbed, ghostly mansion.

This is probably the biggest project we've done to date, or right there.

I think everyone will love this ride once its done, that is if you love Disney's haunted mansion! There will be ghosts, there will be animations, there will be some scares, and the detail should be off the chart.

Here is a link to a story you can read... http://pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsbur...rce=rss&feed=2

We will be using several vendors in our industry to help with the ride. More on that later as we don't have everyone in place yet.

Just thought I'd pass along the news.

    Thanks
    Larry

Actual photo looks better. Are you taking out the part with the awning? It looks alright but I like the top half better than the bottom in the drawing. Will you post more pics as it is in progress?

              Damon,

There are other concessions on the front/side of the same building. What isn't shown is the massive building it is connected to. Kind of like how the haunted mansion is just one piece of a 100,000 SF warehouse.

I like it. How big is the inside building?

                The signage needs more work.

                    Facade

I agree the top looks great but the bottom half seems out of proportion. It's definitely a "draw" though.

                        Hey Larry,

Thanks to the original contacts you made me, I still do all or most of Kennywoods Halloween seasonal costumes.

I know Marie and every one is really excited about this new ride.

They're already working on next halloween as well, and it looks like I have an interesting list ahead of me.

So.... hopefully, when you're in town this time, we can actually get together.

now that you're a big halloween TV star, maybe we need to get you on our show too.

                          Gravely,

I would love to come on your TV show. You name the time... we'll be up at Kennywood sometime in late January or early February making the first round of installs. That would be a perfect time to connect up.

How far are you from Kennywood?

                          Thanks

I do agree, however, that the sign does either need work or totally eliminated altogether.
