Well Kennywood finally has released a press release about their new ride called Ghostwood Estates. Our company (HPI) has been hired to design and create the interior ride, which includes all the animations, cgi effects, special effects, sound fx, and more. The ride will have an awesome facade, which Kennywood is building themselves. I've seen the design and it looks just breathtaking.
The ride system will be a trackless system provided by ETF Systems.
The ride will be like Disney's haunted mansion, but only with interactive targets, which customers will shoot with guns from inside the ride vehicles. This ride will NOT be in blacklight, it will be your cobwebbed, ghostly mansion.
This is probably the biggest project we've done to date, or right there.
I think everyone will love this ride once its done, that is if you love Disney's haunted mansion! There will be ghosts, there will be animations, there will be some scares, and the detail should be off the chart.
Here is a link to a story you can read... http://pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsbur...rce=rss&feed=2
We will be using several vendors in our industry to help with the ride. More on that later as we don't have everyone in place yet.
Just thought I'd pass along the news.
Thanks
Larry
