  • Old Coffins

I know many of you have some need of old looking coffins, am I right?

Well I will be buying some lumberin the next week or so, and I am asking what is it you would like to see in what you all call an "old casket"?

Brainstorm with me!!!!! I have some idea's, but I want to hear what you have to say. BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR IDEA!!!

Watch the silent version of "Nosferato", check out those tricky old-world coffins.
they are definately "Coffin-shaped" but then they also slope angular out from the bottom half, and outward from the top half, and yes the coffin is in two equal -looking halves (as I remember them)
Not many square cuts on the edges of any of those boards, all angular, very tricky!

Well I thought I would at least get a few comments, oh well.

I am looking at getting wood Thursday. I should have most of the coffin put together by later the same day. I will post pictures.

I will worn all of you though, I do not need an old rotting coffin like so few others would like to have. So I will NOT BE BUILDING ONE! However once I have built my new coffin I could make another that would look to be from the 1800's.

I could make any coffin look old, I just don't have the need for one. My home haunt is set up on Halloween and taken down the same night. It's a lot of work, but then I don't have to worry about things being stolen over night by a bunch of drunk teens. Not saying that there are any, it's just you never know!

        Mr. Haunt,

Not to be rude, but maybe you should post your request of the Fright Forum.
There are the two seperate Forums.
The Fright Forum is for a lot of the general questions and is habited by the pros, home haunters and haunt enthusiasts.

This forum is as it is titled the "Professional Haunted House Chat ONLY". Questions are more related to owning and operating a pro haunt. While you have a valid question about building a coffin, if someone owns a pro haunt he either already knows how to build a coffin or just purchases coffins.

The Fright Forum has more of the Home Haunter's input that would probably have more responses to your coffin question. You could also check some of the home haunter how-to sites. They are a wealth of information. Here's a couple of links:
