OMG Spookywoods! Congratulations, That is really impressive!! Glad to see your guy is using a respirator. That suff is really messy when you use a grinder. Any reason you do mot use a hot wire foam carver?

That's me in the picture. There is no way I would do it without a respirator. Even with one on I would still choke up a few beads here and there. Ear plugs, goggles and a respirator are a must. An air hose is nice to have around as well.
I do actually use the HotWire brand tools but I don't like being tied down to just a certain set of tools.

And Barry, thanks. I just make it up as I go

Well I think we all agree that the hotwire would be alot more useful if it didnt cool down so fast when it hits the foam...makes for a really slow process.

For large rough work, I like using an electric barbecue starter hooked to a dimmer. It doesn't cool down as fast as the wire.

That really is awesome! Alot of time and hardwork tied up in all that. Ive done some foam work but not on such a large scale. Time consuming and very messy!

We ended up ordering these a couple of weeks ago. I will say they shipped them super fast. I got them within the week.
