    The Midwest Fantasy Show at the Midwest Haunters Convention

    The Midwest Fantasy Show (MFS) is pleased to present a news and event information update. The MFS will be held June 13-15, 2008 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus Ohio. The Midwest Fantasy Show is sponsored by Wolfe Face Art and FX. The MFS is held in conjunction with the Midwest Haunters Convention (MHC) which is sponsored by CostumeFind.com, and shares educational, social and registration programs including opportunities for tours, training, dining partners and other activities.

    The Midwest Fantasy Show (MFS) is a weekend convergence of artists and entertainers including professional Makeup Artists, Face and Body Painters, Airbrush Artists, Henna, Magicians, Balloon Twisters, Jugglers, business owners and more. These events feature a trade show, education and social events designed to appeal to a variety of audiences.

    The Midwest Fantasy Show and the Midwest Haunters Convention offers a combined registration. We will offer over 50 hours of seminars from industry experts. You may take as many classes as your schedule allows all for only $80 until June 1st ($89 afterwards and at the show). Seminars with the Saturday night party admission is $115 (a 7% discount!).

    Please make your hotel reservations right now ESPECIALLY if you’d like to stay at the Host Hotel: the Hyatt Regency; connected to the Columbus Convention Center ~ which is highly RECOMMENDED! Room rates at the Hyatt Regency are $115 per night (plus tax) and include half price garage parking. The MHC/MFS has well exceeded the hotel room block - with a temporary extension; and it is now somewhat of a claiming race!

    American Airlines is offering MHC/MFS guests a 5% discount off airfare. Please check out the website link above for more information.


    MHC/MFS Vendor Trade Show:
    Admission to the MHC/MFS Vendor Trade Show (6/14-15) is FREE! Midwest Fantasy Show Vendors including Wolfe Face Art and FX, SNAZAROO, Graftobian, Amerikan Body Art and Bloody Mary. The public is welcome. The MHC/MFS Tradeshow will feature a tradeshow floor with over 100 vendor booths. It had sold-out however it has just been expanded, and nearly doubled to almost 50,000 square feet. The tradeshow will be open Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

    Welcome Reception and Friday the 13th Makeup Artist and Entertainers Jam:
    The Midwest Fantasy Show will kick off on Friday, June 13th, with a free Welcome Reception to register for the weekend’s events followed by a free Friday the 13th Makeup Artist and Entertainers Jam Session. Enjoy being entertained and learning at this special evening session with instructors and multi-disciplinary artists as well as fans to practice skills in a comfortable hands-on setting for makeup artists, entertainers and others. *Please see below for details on later ‘after hours’ Friday MHC events.

    MHC/MFS Auction:
    The MHC/MFS also features a Silent and Live Auction (with free admission) on Sunday, June 15 with our auctioneer, Crazy Bob Turner from the Haunted Hydro in Freemont Ohio. Proceeds benefit Feature Creatures of Central Ohio (FC): a regional acting and makeup artist troupe. There is a 10% auction fee for items; to cover donations to the FC as well as for processing credit cards and other fees.

    This is the perfect opportunity to bundle up your extra kit supplies (or costumes, accessories, etc.) to sell in lots; please offer the largest ones possible - auction space is limited. You may set a reserve minimum bid and withdraw the item if it doesn’t fetch what you desire for it.

    Halloween Fantasy Body Art Fashion Show:
    The Midwest Fantasy Show will host a Halloween Fantasy Body Art Fashion Show on Saturday night sponsored by Sophisticated Terror Productions. This is a unique runway presentation of models body painted by a select group of industry artists including Nick Herrera and Kurt Drake/Wolfe Face Art and FX, Pashur/Body Art by Pashur, Sean Avram/Bravo Body Art, Kerry Ann Smith/About Face II, Nick and Brian Wolfe/Graftobian, Robbie Hay/Caricature Artist’s Fun Factory, Keith Newsome and Lora Dunham/Funhouse Faces, and Sophisticated Terror.

    International Association of Haunted Attractions Masquerade Party:
    The showcase Halloween Fantasy Body Art Fashion Show will be featured at the International Association of Haunted Attractions Masquerade Party with dancing, food, costume contests and the infamous Ms Midwest Scary Pageant. For the past two years; the Ms Midwest Scary Pageant was rated as one of the top ’13 Freaky Attractions’ by AOL Online in the US. These events combine professional elements of horror, fantasy and fun and are quite sensational to observe! Admission to the party is $40; $35 with purchase of seminars.

    Spectacle Studios Photography:
    The world renowned Rich Johnson, and photography associates, from Spectacle Studios/Orlando, Florida, will be on hand throughout the weekend. This is the ultimate opportunity for marketing, portfolio or individual photos. He is an amazing genius. You have to see his work to believe it ~ as well as that of our attending artists and characters!

    MFS Education: Arts and Entertainment, Business and Makeup including MHC Tracks: The Midwest Fantasy Show shines with its talented Instructors, and fabulous weekend seminars offered, featuring four educational tracks: Arts and Entertainment, Business, Makeup with additional MHC Makeup classes offered.

    The Midwest Haunters Convention, sponsored by CostumeFind.com, is a weekend industry showcase event for Haunted Attraction Producers, Scene Decorators, Actors, and Home Haunters. The Midwest Fantasy Show, sponsored by Wolfe Face Art and FX, and MHC provide educational seminars and workshops, and an exciting variety of unique social activities and other opportunities.

    The Midwest Fantasy Show and Midwest Haunters Convention will be held concurrently June 13-15, 2008 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Hyatt Regency will be the host hotel for over a thousand Halloween and entertainment enthusiasts.

    Both major industry events will draw top talents in from around the country to Columbus, Ohio- creating unique education, social and shopping opportunities! The MHC/MFS events bring hundreds of people together to immerse themselves with great learning and wonderful shopping opportunities, fun experiences and more; but please be advised - it’s not for everyone. The Midwest Haunters Convention and Midwest Fantasy Show, as well as the IAHA Masquerade Party are adult oriented events. Scary monsters (i.e. character actors) and partially-nude models (body painted) will be at the trade show, jam and other social events throughout the weekend. It is not recommended that children be in attendance.

    * Following the Jam Session, on 6/12/08, ~ daring adventurists won’t want to miss the Midwest Haunters Convention Midsummer Night’s Scream: Club Vampire Party at BOMA (Bar of Modern Art). This will be an awesome event for Halloween enthusiasts! Advance tickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door, with $35 bus passes offered which include admission to BOMA and the House of Nightmares (a haunted attraction).
