    Where does everyone get their styraphoam boards or insulation i have looked everywhere and cant find them.

    Home depot and Lowes - they both carry the pink ,blue and white beaded in diffrent thicknesses -but they carry diffrent types at each -dont forget to peel the film off the blue and pink it is hard to see

      i just picked up a bunch of sheets at lowes,
      for 10 bucks a sheet (4 by 8 feet ) and 1 inch thick
      not a bad price it was the blue

      does anyone know what the differnet colors are and what type if best for carving

        The blue is more dense and has a slightly higher R factor for the same thickness insulation wise. Occasionally it is more expensive than the pink.

        As far as carving goes, anything done in blue seems to be harsh in the edges like it was too hard to work and the pink seems to blend and form with a heat gun more uniformly.

        On the same token the blue might not be as delicate to abuse, handling and storage knocks and dings.
