  • We Got Our Approval!

    Hello all!
    Well, we went to the Fire Hall for their meeting and were first on the agenda...they unanimously voted in favor of us using their 3000 sq. ft. pavilion for our haunt (2nd year this year)...we got some very strong compliments about leaving it "cleaner that it was when they started" and "those guys did a great job" from the volunteer firemen...so now the marketing machine starts (small as it may be for our budget)!
    We're going to get registered for the Pleasantville Festival parade on the 19th of July and use a truck with signboards on it's sides with a small trailer on the back with our coffin and actor in it throwing candy/fliers! And we'll be 'parading' around it dressed up! Last year we didn't have a clue we were doing it and it was rush-rush...well they said they wanted us back and we couldn't get inside a building this year soooooo...here we go!
    The fesival here is the week of the parade so we'll be putting up fliers at it (since the firemen run it!) and advertising too! Plus more time for insurance and all that paperwork now and less distraction while building it in mid September...last year was a nightmare...fun...but busy!!!

    Here we go!!! One more obstacle out of the way!!!

          Yep, last year we were supposed to use a certain location and last minute...NOPE! So our end of August last-ditch effort "Hey let's try the fire hall and see if we can use it's pavilion?" worked...
          But the hauling panels/props and get insurance and build it by early Oct. and, oh yeah, ADVERTISE it...was to say the least...hectic!
          This is much smoother...this month start the advertising...parades...get the insurance ready...then mid September...build build build with everything out of the way or in motion!
          *phew* I knew it'd be a bit less stressful year two...
