Jamie Ballard- Update

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. This kid's a fighter and it's showing.
When she came in they only gave her a 30% chance of even surviving!!

So far she has been taken off life support and is breathing on her own.
She is still in the comma, but with the brain swelling she has,
it's normal.

She's been VERY lucky so far, though she is not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination. So it's one day at a time.

Keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming!!!

Jamie Update-Aug. 1st

I'll also start this as a new thread.

They have moved her out of ICU. It's not into a regular room but MCU, Managed Care Unit. She has to have a nurse watch her 24/7.

Her nick name is "Little Houdini". They had to restraint both her hands and feet as she would move around and use her toes to try and remove the feeding tube!!!

There is still pressure on the brain so she remains unconcious.
She will respond if you ask her to move, squeeze your hand, etc.

When she is not alseep he is very agitated, trying to move, grab tubes etc. So they are limiting visitors to try and keep her calm.

They took out the staples today, well over 50 of them!

It will be one day at a time. We were told the size of the aneurysm, 4cm x 3.5 cm.
That is pretty big! It actually shifted her brain to the other side which accounts for the added swelling. Again she is EXTREMELY lucky just to be alive right now!

Thanks Body Bagging!! I'll take the VoDoo doll over to her tomorrow!!
Maybe it'll absorb any of the negative vibes!!!
