Do you vary your advertising methods intentionally from year to year?

I'm sure you have one or two methods you use every year, but beyond those one or two, do you experiment with new methods every year to try to reach new people.

This fall season I was thinking about advertising The Ravens Grin Inn as being "More user-Friendly" (Because it is!) You will have to come here to find out what I mean (the mystery deepens!)
I have decided to spare no amount of effort or expense on my account to take at least one shower Every Week (wether I really need it or nazi)
I know that I will be trading the opportunity to allow people to know the real me versus the gussied-up Proctur and Gamble version of "me".
My oldest son 39, has a classmate who was a friend of his who has not bathed since high school! He buys new clothes but the stink hits your nose from beyound the range of the worst phart!
He used to drive a cab in Chicago, he felt this odor kept the criminals away from him, along with Everyone else except the nasilly-impared.

Boni, that's a really good question.

I'm sorry I'm not a haunt owner and can't give you advice from direct
experience, but I can say that the only way that changing your marketing
techniques from year to year is going to help, is if you have a way of
figuring out what results each technique is producing.

Let's say your haunt is growing by X percentage each year for four years,
and you've been using the same marketing techniques each year.

You can (somewhat) safely say that those techniques have produced that
      X percentage of growth.

Confusion sets in when you get different results by altering those techniques in more than one way - and you still don't have a way of tracking it.

Again, let's say you have stopped using radio and opted for trying viral
videos on the Internet, *and* you put up a local billboard.

Whether you see an increase *or* a decrease in your sales, you have no
way of knowing which technique made the difference.

My point here is, until you know what's working - and what isn't - it
really doesn't matter whether you change your strategies (unless,
      of course, you're *losing* money!).

To make it worse, hardly anyone knows *how* to track their marketing
efforts. It's difficult, to be sure.

I'll see if I can find something you can use.

Can you give us an idea of what you've tried so far?

        Thanks,

Jim, I'm sure the sacrifice by the customers will be willingly obliged.

          skin peels! Yuck!
