  • Scary Southern California

Once again folks, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties are burning. You would think by now we've run out of things to burn.

Yep, definitely scarey when it looks like midnight at noon, and there is danger all around. There is an eeriness to a brush fire and the haze and tension it creates that I would love to be able to duplicate in a haunt.

I saw an article in the SD Union a couple of weeks ago showing a map of the likely fire zones this year. One of them was in Alpine, which just had a bad fire about eight years ago. That brush grows back fast.

Our small town sent a fire engine up to L.A. yesterday to help with the fire there. The fire season here is always this time of year. I remember one year a group of firefighters got back just in time to set up a haunted house at the local elementary school that night. I thought that was great of them to put out all that effort after being gone so long.
