Have a favorite (or two) horror short stories? List them here!

    A couple of my favorites:

"The Rose Garden" (I think that's its name) - by M.R. James

"The Cask of the Amontillado" - by Edgar Allen Poe

"The Tell-tale Heart" - by Edgar Allen Poe (ha ha, I got to say it first!)

    Bloody kisses,

I'm a big fan of the Tell-tale Heart, as well.

I really enjoyed all of Clive Barkers "Books of Blood".

Poe is a big favorite of mine... and I know this may sound corny, but... a FEW of the "Goosebump" books do have good stories and a few scares! ... Not all though, just a few. Def. a good source for ideas! -Tyler

Tyler I was thinking the same thing!

That brings back good memories as a kid at summer camp, staying up late, reading every "Goosebumps" book I could get my hands on!

"The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell horrified me when I had to read it for an English class in high school. It just stuck with me and I think I could have lived without reading it, but it was very spooky to me.

I collect the Goosebumps books and TV series. But why can't I find a "complete TV series DVD set"? You'd think they'd have made one, considering its popularity!

What do y'all think of all the off-shoots of the original series? Like Goosebumps 2000 and such?

Stine's series "Fear Street" has been pretty good, from what I've seen.

FearSeeker: I also read "The Most Dangerous Game" and *loved* it - in that spooky way, of course, LOL.

Any of y'all read H.P. Lovecraft, of "Cthulhu" (sp?) fame?

Ever read "Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes"? When I first saw the title, I was like, "WTF?"

Turned out to be kinda scary, LOL!

                    Correction!

                    Hey, guys,

Thanks to a kind person on this board, it has been brought to my attention that I titled one of Poe's works as "The Cask AND the Amontillado," rather than the correct title, "The Cask OF the Amontillado."

I've corrected it on my first post.

                    Many thanks to Infoamtek!

My high school English teacher often gave us nightmares with her short story picks. I just remembered another: "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson.

I also enjoyed "Suffer the Little Children" by Stephen King.

I'm still trying to remember. It has been a while since I had time to read.
