Does anyone know exactly how they come up with the top 13 haunts in the US? Is it overall budget, who you know, actual scariness? Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks!

When it comes to rating a haunted house experience......your customers will do this as they open their wallets, this is what really means anything because the paying customer is "voting" for you and then returns, bringing more customers.
Everything else, all other methods are certifiable whimsey.
I have avoided printing any ads or posters for my place that might say:"Voted Number One!" because it would be too much intensive labor for me to make all those ballot boxes for every insect in my yard and house to vote in.
There is a haunt that always has such a claim on their ads and maybe within their classification they just may be number one since they are only open for business for a total of ten hours a year.
