my biggest thing is trying to find some sponsors around the area to try and get some money towards the haunt, i myself have some props that i could use but not nearly enough to make a whole haunt out of it

Are you trying to build your own haunted house? Or, are you just seeking some sponsors to help you out?

All of my potential sponsers had already invested in experimental technology to turn water into gasoline...not quite as risky as investing in a first time out of the box haunted house.
But do it anyway, do the work, invest your sweat and hours, make it work, this will show'em!
Work ethic and a product of your previous efforts help convince sponsers.
Differentiate yourself from the door to door light bulb salesman, know what I mean?
I eventually found two backers for my dream of my own haunted house but it took seeking such support almost every day for almost a year.
I physically work longer and harder than most people that I have ever known but begging for someone to give MY dream a chance with THEIR money was Very hard.

Sponsorship of a haunted house (or many other enterprises for that matter) is kind of like getting a loan. They won't give you the money when you need it, but will give it to you when you don't.

Without an established haunt, it will be tough to sell anyone on you as an unknown factor. And after you are up and running, do you really want to let someone sponsor you for the same small amount you would a couple of years before?

              Banker's Problems

The main backer of my dream was an elderly man who was probably a millionaire.
He wanted to simply co-sign for me to provide me with the loaned money.
He had money in at least three different local banks. He sent to to each one of them, one at a time and they all refused to loan me any money even with his as co-signer!? (Something about," they didn't loan money on condemmed houses?")
He didn't take this rejection very well.
As I cautiously got done telling him that now the third bank had rejected us, he threw his hat down and said, "I'll loan you the money myself!"
This man was a farmer, a businessman,a resort owner, owned property half way around the world as an investment and was always trying new and even experimental things .
I had already shown him my work ethic, he knew my family.......

Yea im looking to open up my own haunt and i know with terror on the fox up here they have the big sponsor being oneida casino. Im just kinda looking for something a little bigger just to get into a house and get some stuff built in it. The haunted house i worked for before didnt have much of a budget so we were always finding new ways to make things scary inside the haunt. We had no animatronics or anything in that sort but we made sure our rooms and actors acting them were the best for what we had
