  • Tell me about your character?

Im in the process of devloping a cross dressing Chainsaw Maniac iv Dubbed "Ashley" She wears a pink frilly dress with messed up make up and combat boots. She also has a chainsaw. Just wondering peoples ideas, i usualy use blood and write "PrEtty" across my chest because the dress is a little low cut and i have my throat slit and some messed up lipstick bad eyeshadow and penciled on eyebrows. I was wondering if i could get suggestions as to lines and some character help. I would also enjoy knowing some of the characters you guys have developed!

    I "Play"....

An old guy actually crazed enough to own a haunted, haunted house and give 90 minute tours running up and around through a 5,000 sq.ft. seven level structure that even has tunnels that I dug myself....scared yet?
Now think of this, I'm the one who just closed that big, heavy door behind you and you are in MY HOUSE!
Mom Nature provides my make up and she hasn't always been kind.
My "character" has been known to say and do almost anything to get a laugh. You don't think what I said was the least bit "funny"?
You now have a very few minutes to learn to laugh, or else! Time grows shorter. (Insert my own evil laugh here~)

Sometimes I only find out many years later how much I actually, truly scared some people....by just being "me"...or almost me.

A short while ago I stopped at a local gas station and the owner asked me about business and how Ghost Seeker's Night Halloween night "went"?
I told him about the one strange picture taken in the front room with the face floating about 30inches above the middle of the front room floor.
He laughed and said," You did that."
"No I didn't, when that picture was taken I was sound asleep in bed."
"Yah, but you had something that did that."
"No I didn't (what could do this automatically or via remote control?)
Other people were taking the picture, it was their camera.
I guess he doesn't believe in anything possibly being supernatural?
But then he doesn't live in this old strange house either.
People 85 years old were warning me not to buy this house 22 years ago because it was haunted........I just might be the laziest guy in the haunted house business........

For Ashley, you should have LOLA by the Kinks playing as ambient sound in your area. Or sing a few key lines under your breath when people are around.

"Im not young but I can't understand why she walk like a woman and talk like a man, oh my lola, la la la la lola"

Have someone sing Lola as if they were from Japan "Row-Rah!"

                One night...

One of the people in my house was a young man from Japan. We were in the attic/cupola and I had a Mister Microphone I was talking through and I made a little idiotic tune sort of like "Doot-dee-dootL-de-doot-dee-doot!" (It sort of sounded like one of those tunes from a 1940 cartoon, pretty inane)
The boy from Japan began laughing and couldn't stop so I asked," Is this the Japanese national anthem?
                He still couldn't stop laughing....
                (Maybe it was ?)
Being open all year long I have had many foreign exchange students come through here and many adults traveling across the USA from almost any country you can name.
A 30? yr. old muscle bound man from Poland shrieked like a little girl when some ice cold water accidently went over the top of the side of his shoe. (I had told him to step to the left not the right, he stepped to the right, right into the pool of cold water.
He paid and saw my house three times that week he was in town for Campbell Center, most of their students work in museums and come here for refresher courses.
He was one of the "Gilders" people who put gold leaf on fancy picture frames.

I'm making a character for myself, aptly named Cackles the Clown. I want to use one of the prosthetic faces from screamteam.com. I probably won't be one of the "jump out and scream" actors (depends on where the boss puts me). Hopefully I'll be in a place where I can get up close to the customers and ask them "Are you scared of me?" In a really creepy voice. If they don't answer, then I'll yell "I SAID ARE YOU SCARED OF ME?!" Then I'll do my maniacle laugh (I have a great one) and maybe blow an airhorn at them.

What do you think? If you can think of any, please tell me any way that I can improve this. I want to be at my scariest for Halloween!

I use two separate characters at my haunt.

Roderick is a very prim and proper Victorian-era "Jack the Ripper"-esque character who acts like the perfect English fop. I rarely use blood and am very interactive with the visitors in the park. I act as a distraction most times for another character or I work as a barker for one of the scare zones...

PsychoBadger is a bone-welding maniacal character that runs around causing mayhem. I rarely say anything other than a low gutteral growl or laugh. I'm looking at expanding his character to become a slider this season if I can get into good enough shape...

Yeah sliding is rather taxing. My kneepads don't fit very well and they shift around on my knees. Once i adjusted it wrong and it slid and my full knee got the bruunt of the asphault. Took off a whole lair of skin... it was pretty bad.

It seems we've met briefly? haha

I actually took a pic of you last season Badger...haha, what a small world. I liked your costume a lot. The pic in the middle and to the right is obviously me and I got to be the Voodoo Guy in our maze Final Summons. I didn't like the make-up on the pic in the middle, however, when Nick from SeeNickDesign.com was there (pic on the right) the make-up was phenomenal!!
