I've always loved "A Christmas Story," but I also enjoy Black Christmas (the original).

I have to agree with Banshee, and say I love SCROOGE with ALbert Finney. The Ghost Scenes, and that "thank you very much" song, are awesome.

It's not a movie, but I also love Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas.

Here's the little seen/often cut "Hell scene" from Scrooge
                    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCJ69RycJkA
(And look at the gorgeous cemetery set!)

I'll have to add Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns too

                    Emmett Otter rocks!

I would have to say Christmas vacation and Elf are two of my favorites.

Okay..okay...I *know* these are Christmas "specials" but...

ANY of the old Rankin/Bass productions are right up there.
I love stop-motion animation and the tunes became part of the
Christmas lexicon since their release in 1964. Johnny Marks penned
such classics as Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Silver and Gold, and
Holly Jolly Christmas leaving a legacy in song for generations to
                          enjoy.

Also, the original Charlie Brown Christmas. Wonderful story
with a timely message not seen on TV as much these days.
Vince Guaraldi, composer, was a gift to the world of music and, to this day,
draws kids of all ages into the world of Charlie Brown with his
lofting melodies and hook-laden counterpoint. I have tried to find
a class that didn't know "Lucy and Linus", the theme for all the series,
but once they hear the opening bassline the smiles tell the tale.

Have a wonderful holiday season and a Very Merry Christmas!

Has to be, without a doubt, A Christmas Story.

                            "You'll shoot your eye out!"

                            "Sunsabitches! Bumpassess!"

                            "Notafinga!"

                            So full of great lines...

Far as strictly Christmas my favorites are A Christmas Story, and Christmas Vacation. Far as scary Christmas my favorites are Tales from the Crypts "All Through the House." That was classic! And Nightmare Before Christmas is cool too.
