Bad News For Me...

I'm sitting here trying to register for unemployment since a bunch of us at the lumber mill just got laid off...
They said because of job skill/seniority they kept a minimum crew...but it's funny since I've never been late or missed a day (other than scheduled vacation time), get along with everyone, have been there the longest of the other 2 that know my job, and also have done it longer, that I was one of the people laid off...they're going to see month by month...but supporting a wife and almost 3 year old I gotta do something...
Sucks...
Could use your prayers in finding something new...Thanks!

Sorry man. Hang in there though. I have a feeling the worst part is over with and the economy should start to get better once Obama gets into office. I am by no means an Obama fan, and am a republican, but he seems to have some good ideas and people are pretty opimistic over him....

never too late to go back to school... I know several buddies that have been laid off are back at school hoping to land something better than the last job.

My prayers go out for you. I know it sucks, but try to look for a positive in the situation. Job loss is a great time for reevaluations and prioritizing. lots of time to think.

UPDATE!!!
Wow! Thanks for the well wishes and prayers!!!
Well, I had taken vacation the past two weeks around Christmas and it was my first day back...got laid off...bummer...
But during those two weeks my best friend (who works for Coke) and my father-in-law (works for oil company PGE) told me to try applying to their places of work. I did just for kicks.
I got laid off at 10:15 am today and at 1:15 Coke called (my buddies boss-nice guy, we talked and I told him about my layoff 3 hours prior) and basically I'm going to an interview tomorrow at 10:00 am and he said if my urine test and all goes well (no drugs in system or no bad driving record-it will be fine...no record and I don't drink/smoke/do drugs) I could be hired on the spot to start next week. Since my buddy is one of the company 'superstars' he said and is one of his best employees and we're so alike...I may have the job!
WOW!!! We're so excited!!!
Now onto the interview!!!
