  • Lets hear it... WHAT DID YOU BUY???

As you could see in the Darkness I already bought everything... LOL.

Anyway no seriously what did you guys buy at the show. I'm interested to know what you thought was cool for your haunt this coming year. I bought nothing not one single thing... by the time I tried to walk the floor many of the vendors packed up.

On another day I tried to walk the floor there was too many people trying to talk to people that it made it impossible to talk to a business owner. Did anyone else have this problem???

Anyway what did you buy and how are you going to use it?

I bought me a new airbrush from GREX. It is awesome. If you are in the market you should check them out. I got a pistol grip airbrush and the difference is amazing. Very comfortable and very easy to use.

      Not as much this year.

But few things from CFX: gloves to match a mask I bought last year, 2 new masks, teeth, and blood.

One of those gillisuits from Oak Island.

I think something from Ghost ride.

A cleaver from Pale eye or night or whatever.

      Renewed a banner.

Seems like a couple of other small things I can't remember.

There was some stuff from fright props I was going to buy but after the first day they were always really busy and we couldn't get the order in. It wasn't their fault, they were always swamped when we tried to place it. No big because I can just order it now. There were a couple of other people that were swamped that I wanted to place orders with and I just forgot until afterwards.

This is one of the reasons why I like Midwest Haunters Convention - it gives me a chance to touch base with vendors I missed during the hectic period at Transworld. Just looking at the photos, I can tell that I missed all kinds of cool stuff.

I won't tell you exactly what we bought - but we placed decent-sized orders with Gore Galore, Ghost Ride, Gep, Fright Props, and the company formerly known as Oak Island that now has a name that I can't remember.

There are several other great companies out there (Sinister Scents for example) that I know we'll be placing orders from -- just not sure exactly what we want yet...

Friday was by far the best day to talk to vendors. The crowds were much lighter, especially in the morning. We found we had little problem getting time to get questions answered. Even with the heavier crowds on Saturday, getting at least some face time with many vendors was still possible. Having attended shows for other industries, I have to say the haunt vendors left a very good impression for our team.

This year, we stuck to buying electronics and controllers to work with in the offseason. We have a much larger wishlist in the longer run as a result of the show, so I'm sure more spending on bigger items is in the future.

There are three rules to designing a haunt. Unfortunately, nobody knows what they are.

Of a ton of stuff I had bought, it would mean one thing, I found someone else's wallet in the parking lot!

Ben already replied for Netherworld, but I got a killer mask & hands from Fearscape for myself ! And I got some Wolf Bros. makeup and a cash & carry webber from Morris for another haunter that couldn't make it to the show..
I was curious about those airbrushes..I'm a 'hardcore Iwata person though..
I did want to check out the hotwire tools, but that table was PACKED every time that I went by..
