  • fog machines and fire alarms

This year I'm designing a haunted house for a local non-profit group. It will be in an empty storefront, equiped with smoke and fire alarms. Will a water based fog machine set these off? If so, is there any way (other than a fog chiller) of using a fog that will not set them off? Thanks.

Yes. To use fogger indoors you need heat sesors for the fire system.

I've tried all kinds, and they all set mine off.

YES! fog will set off the fire alarms. I worked in a house like 5 years ago that had this happen. We had to stop using the fog machines. The house I'm with right now uses heat sensors that will detected fire. No smoke or fog.

Ok, I will talk to them about installing the heat sensors. Thanks for your help.
