Question? Does having a scary haunt in your garage maybe make people less likely to come around wanting to borrow tools from that garage the rest of the year?
"Sure, you can borrow my rake, the "Haunted" rake, it might scratch the ground alittle too deeply though, it gets too carried away sometimes, being possessed and all, you know!" (Insert evil laugh ~here)

Very nice set-up! Can't wait till I can finally convert my garage over!

Any idea when you plan to open up again...? Hate to see a good haunt go unseen!

            Thanks

                  "afraid to borrow your tools?"
Unless my life would depend upon it, I try to NEVER borrow anyone else's tools. Why? Because so many times in the past when I would pick up someone else's tool , like just a ruler, it would break in my hand!
Then I would stop the work I was on, drive to a store and buy them a replacement tool.
(Of course as I am typing this, I remember the one guy whose ruler broke in my hand and I immeadiately replaced it for him also was the guy who backed into the side of my truck, promised to fix the damage and never did! Give me back that ruler!)

when I started way back in 2001 it was me in a skeleton costume, scary music, a strobe light. That year I go 25 trick or treaters. I decided to make my garage more of haunt walk through. In 2004 I decided to involve a local charity where they get all the profits (it is a free will donation, so dont worry about a permit.) The charity does all the psa, and gets the media attention. Last year I had 846 be warned more exposure more ppl, have to watch your props a little closer. I had masks stolen off my props in my graveyard in 2005. I have gotten security cameras now. Good Luck

I to am a Pro Home Haunter. Even though I have been trying for just about a year to start a pro haunt, I get a kick out of doing my yard haunt. Last year I tested the waters by buying myself a costume, and wandering around in the yard. I did not scare anyone though. There had been a lot who asked for it though. So with that said, I am getting a group of people that I work with to haunt my yard and part of the street.

I do a cemetery scene every year. I add very little, do to $$$$, but I do OK. I will have some wondering zombies and a crazy grave digger to spook some things up a bit. I plan on using the whole yard this year. There are a few things that I would like to build that I have stormed up, but we will see. One Idea was to have an actor use a leaf blower as a prop. Not sure if this is a good idea, but it's loud and blows air. If someone is not expecting it, who knows what kind of reaction we will have? Not sure how to tie in a leaf blower to a cemetery type haunt, but ya never know.

Good luck HOME HAUNTERS!!! DON"T FOREGET TO GET CREATIVE!!! THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO SCARE THE SOCKS OF SOMEONE!

Well I'm in the same boat as all the beginners so all I can say is good luck to you. So far we have around 8-10% completed and we have 80% of the materials. Of course I would have more up but my dad has so much crap still in the garage that we can't build far. As I said good luck to you all this year.
