I'm still here - just busy.

One of the things I remember about the 80s was that it seemed to be the decade of the duets. Some unusual pairings came out during those years.

One of my talents has always been to tell you what movie a song was played in. I might not remember the actors or the plot but I always remembered the songs. The videos helped, since they often used scenes from the movie in the video. Then they stopped showing videos on MTV and VH1.

I always tell younger people that I'm so old I can remember when MTV used to play music videos. The response is: "Wow - Really?"

I have heard that is one of the reasons a number of TV shows never made it to DVD - they would have had to pay new royalties on the music that was on the episodes.

One of the other things the 80s was known for was the music TV shows. Anyone remember the lip-synching show Puttin on the Hits? How about Friday Night Videos? That was what those of us in small markets not served by MTV yet had to look forward to. Then there was Casey Kasem's America's Top 10 TV show (not to be confused with his radio program).

Life was a lot simpler back then.

Okay, Had to throw this in the mix. I heard this last night at Applebees and it brought back mega memories. I had totaly forgotten that Eddie Murphy put an album out.

I always loved Rick James and he helped Eddie make this.
