  • NEW ClearCut Ticketing Video

Hope everyone's building season has been going well and is productive. We've been working on a new overview video of our ticketing point of sale, online ticketing, and access control software which I would like to share with the community.

Season opening for many haunters is a little less then 60 days away already! ClearCut will continue to take orders for new installs until August 14th. We spoke with many haunters at Transworld, but with such an extensive product one of our little known features was pushed into the corner and has recently caught the attention of a few haunters. Preassigned ticketing requires NO ticket printer and can save quite a bit of money!

ClearCut also offers the unique option to PURCHASE the ONLINE TICKETING ENGINE!

Enjoy the video and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Happy Haunting,
    Ken Darrigo

Awesome system! It looks like it does everything! I have been looking around for the best way to sell tickets...online and at the ticket window...and in the least expensive way. I just have to convince the "chairs" at our haunt to spring for a system. We are already over budget this season. Our only problem now is we are cash only right now and don't have internet access at our location.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I tried to cover as much as possible in a short time frame without boring everyone too much.

For remote locations that do not have internet access, you can usually pick up one of those USB mobile broadband cards and a mobile router. I know that Cricket, Verizon Wireless, and even Virgin Mobile cards are pretty popular. Plus in addition to having the internet access for online ticketing you can also process credit cards a lot faster.

Just did some skim research and found a few mobile broadband solutions. Not very many are affordable, and the one I would do if any is the Broadband2Go by Virgin. It's equivalent to the prepaid cell phone plans, but for wireless. $60 for a month of use is NOT a bad price, but I would only get 1GB worth of data. Would 1 GB be enough for running the ClearCut system?!

            Spookywoods - Invests in ClearCut

            Hi Haunters,

I just want to put my name in the hat as a VERY Satisfied ClearCut Operations customer.

I researched all the big name haunt ticketing vendors over the past few years and I have been a customer of Ticket Web/ClickNPrint, and Interactive Ticketing myself.

When you consider that online ticketing is growing at an amazing pace the revenue generated by service fees can mount up to a sizable deposit in the bank account, why not make it your bank account?

Ken has been a pleasure to work with on the technical issues and the payment options his company offers.

If your a serious haunter it really is a no brainer decision to own your ticketing solution. Granted it is an investment in technology, I have 9 workstations with touch screen monitors, 4 bar code ticket printers, a onsite server and a data center hosted virtual server running the ClearCut solution. I purchased the complete package with the online application being hosted on my own server. I have installed point to point wireless bridges across my farm to enabled the old barns with high speed network access.

This is a sizable investment in my business, but I would much rather spend the money on this solution that improves my ticketing and makes money than a few large props that will most likely not last one season and have to have a full time employee fixing them.

I will make the investment back in fees for the online application this year and make a profit on it in year one.

I know owning an IT company like myself how much thought and testing has been put into this solution. You don't have to be a computer geek to implement this solution, Ken can make it easy by hosting your online tickets on his own server for a fee.

I have all my gift shops, box office, online and access control running on this system.

I'm a big fan of Interactive Ticketing and was a customer last year, great support and their system works for online tickets really well. However, if you want Total Control over all your tickets and make your own service fees there is only one clear cut choice.

I was not paid to endorse this solution, I'm just sharing with my fellow haunters my experiences.
            Tony Wohlgemuth,

I really like the looks of this system. But I have to ask, does it really say "access granted"... LOL

                  Access Sounds

                  Hi Guys,

Like I posted above I own this complete system. The access control software allows you to choose your accepted bar code and your denied bar code wav sound file of your choice.

There are numerous wav sounds on the internet you can asign to the access control. I'm setting up speakers at my entrance to make it very clear when someone tries to enter with a invaild bar code. The alarm noise is sure going to scare the customers.

                    Hi Everyone,

Tony is correct. You can add your choice of sounds to play on ticket accept or decline. I just chose those sounds to demonstrate the feature of not having to constantly look at the computer monitor upon each scan. www.Soundsnap.com has a bunch of sounds. We actually should put together a video just for access control since there are so many options!

As far as the data transfer goes... It really depends on your ticket volume. Larger events will have more data transfer then the smaller events. You can reduce data transfer by uploading your settings, web tickets, coupons, etc. at home. The system is extremely fast and efficient. During download, the software is just checking for the last download point.. So you're only downloading new data and it usually only takes seconds.

I believe Cricket and Virgin Mobile are reselling the Sprint/Nextel service.

                      Mobile Hot Spot

I know this wasn't too much of an issue for many haunters, but for remote haunters with location like mine that don't have ready internet access, and don't want to pay for a plan that they won't use except for maybe 2-3 months of the year, Virgin Mobile has their mobile hot spot service at rock bottom prices for NO commitment. All you do is buy the hardware...either the $150 mifi which lets you connect up to 5 wifi enabled devices or the $80 ovation that connects usb enabled laptops, etc. Essentially, pay as you go, unlimited data 3G internet for $40 a month or a capped plan with 10 days of use and 100 mb for $10. Thought I'd share because I'm busy trying to convince the powers that be to get it! It's been like pulling teeth trying to even get them to sell tickets via paypal, and now I'm trying to convince them we need Clear Cut!!
