  • Haunted House Movie/Scare Zone

Some time back this board kicked around the idea of making a movie about a haunted attraction, this link was posted on chainsawwolf yahoo group. It was shot at Halloween Horror Nights inside some of their haunted houses. Goes to show you that good ideas are had by all.
    Check it out:

    That is very cool!

It seems there are a few of these around - Frightworld did one, HoH Buffalo is doing one, there was one shot at Rocky Point, and there was a cool trailer for one the Zombie Army guys did.

Does anyone have links or info about if any of these are completed?

I saw an Trailer for AMUSEMENT I wonder if that was one of them?

If we actually get a well done HH movie that comes out - lets get behind it!

    Thanks!

Hooray for WNY having the majority of haunted attraction movies! I'm sure they are both good, I can't wait for the HoH one though.

I may be playing the grumpy old fart here, but in the 2nd trailer there is a clip of an actor getting slugged in the face and a scene with kids doing a beer bong out in front of the haunted house. Every haunted house movie may not paint the picture of haunted houses that some of us want painted. I wouldn't want kids seeing this then coming to my attraction. Way to many "monkey see, monkey do"'ers out there.

Although this was not actually ABOUT our haunt, it was shot on location there last year.

More of a paranormal thriller than a full blown horror flic, but my wife and I did the make up and FX so we had to do some things differently than we would for the haunt. We always had a second chance or a do over when we needed as opposed to having to instantly reset for the next scare. But with the make up especially, the camera is very unforgiving. Since the entire project took just over two months, we had to keep daily pictures of each make up job, as well as each scene, so we could exactly reproduce it for the following days/weeks shooting.

This is a very low budget indy film, but it has gotten fairly good reviews so far from various indy film magazines and web sites. We had an absolute blast working on it, but as a bit of advice for anyone considering a project like this for their haunt...independent or not, most movie shoots tend to go a bit longer than projected. And it is near impossible to build, alter, or generally make any noise anywhere close to where the filming is being done, and due to continuity required for the film, you may not be able to work on your haunt during the project.
