"fake" spinning tunnel

Does anyone know if there are, and where to find plans for a "fake" spinning tunnel that uses lights in sequence to make the illusion? I thought I came accros one, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks!

I have seen houses use this light:

...with some fog to create the effect. The Light is placed level with the guest midsection or at the ceiling pointed down at them.

I've also seen it done with rope lights. There was a lighting company that sold the kit, but I'm not sure if they still do. I'll be on the lookout for you.

I was given an old leaky wooden hot tub. I laid it over on it's side, painted the floor of it flat black and people would walk into it expecting it to do something........there you go a faux-spinning tunnel!
"Come on, I know that you see it spining, you just spent the last three hours at the tavern next door, you were drinking diet pop?"
The ferrel cats loved this hot tub, it was the perfect stepping stone for them to make it onto the roof of my house from, which creeped some people out , driving passed to see real cats prowling the roofline.

Like Nightgore said, throw in some fog and you've got yourself a vortex tunnel effect. 8)

I personally like the dj lights with the rotating gobos, those always feel distorting. Aim the light at the patrons upper body/head level, and the light engulfs them, which also prevents them from seeing anything (or anyone) in front. The rope lights, though the more expensive option, always feel cheap when walking through.
