They represented the coming of age, a replica of what we as living humans hold most important; a child. Dolls in ancient times, in most cultures of the world were used as an offering for the hope of fertility and in some cases used to absorb the energy of some one and create magic.
Dolls in essence are false representations of sentiment beings, looking at us with never ending expressions as if their eyes truly contain souls. In actuality the only vessels that truly resemble us and contain souls are children. Tiny humans with endless energy and wild imaginations amazing the dormant adult mind.Master mind manipulators in precious corrupting packages. As we mature our wills broken and civilized, we are far from our origin of being natural atheists; we are now threatened by the holding and obscuring of the knowledge of truth.
Fearing in our dreams the embodiment of death, uncontrolled emotion, a mundane existence, and temptation. Dolls too, become broken, physically stained as does our subconscious, revealing itself in what we dream. The simple childhood toy becoming the mechanical embodiment of the ghosts locked in our heads. A doll that is possessed is a manifestation of our own demons
