About Us The Kelley Family has been operating in Southern Fayette County for more than a hundred years, starting with a small country store and tobacco operation, and branching out through the years with livestock and produce. The tradition continues today with Farmer John, his children and grandchildren. The original country store is no longer in operation and our years of tobacco production have come to a close, but we continue to work the soil we love so much, with a focus on fruit, vegetables and cattle. We now cultivate several acres of small fruit and pumpkins, and boast Central Kentucky's original Giant Corn Maze. We look forward to seeing you at the farm! The Kelley Family Frequently Asked Questions How big is the maze? Our maze covers more than 10 acres of land. The Giant Corn Maze actually hosts 2 mazes: Phase 1 gives you a chance to warm up and practice good navigation skills; Phase 2 will challenge you with unexpected twists and turns. How long does it take to get through the maze? It all depends on the number of wrong turns you take. The average person will finish their maze experience in about an hour. Some take a lot longer; others finish more quickly. If you have good map reading skills, you should be able to find your way out - eventually! Will I get lost? We hope so! That’s part of the fun! While everyone does get lost to different degrees, we have designed the maze to be an interactive activity that makes a trip inside the maze more than just a walk through some corn. How do you make the maze? Our exact process is a secret, but we can tell you we do it the old fashioned way and it takes a lot of practice. We do not use a GPS system! Our corn is planted months in advance, and carefully cut out in a special design. It takes some serious math skills and a lot of patience. What happens to the corn after the Giant Corn Maze closes? After the season is over, we harvest the corn and feed it to cattle. Are there refunds if guests leave due to rain? No, but you can check with the ticket booth before you leave Kelley Farms to see if “rain tickets” are being offered, allowing you to return on a future date. Can I drop my children off and pick them up in a few hours? No. Kelley Farms requires that all children be accompanied by an adult. Children should never be left unattended. Can groups bring their own food and drink? Yes. Though we have some really yummy choices at Kelley Farms, you are welcome to bring your own. We have a large grassy area and tables that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Alcoholic beverages are never permitted on the farm. How Can I Pay? Kelley Farms accepts cash and credit, including Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Are Pets Permitted? Pets are not permitted, with the exception of service dogs. Is Smoking Permitted? No, smoking is not permitted on Kelley Farms property. Where Can I Learn About Weather Closings? Inclement weather can force us to close at any time. We will make every effort to inform you of these cloings on our homepage at www.lexcornmaze.com as well as our facebook page: www.facebook.com/lexingtoncornmaze What's The Best Attire? We recommend being prepared for cool weather. Remember that you will be in a farm atmosphere and should dress appropriately for the best experience. Athletic shoes are recommended. Are There Restrooms? There are portable restrooms on site, along with hand sanitizing stations. Is There Handicap Accessibility? The Giant Corn Maze at Kelley Farms is on unpaved farmland and does not have handicapped access. While wheel chairs, strollers and wagons can be brought on the premises, we urge you to use caution when considering whether to take them inside the maze.
